My Experience in TL
I played for 40+ hours in the first two days of the current korean beta and the combat is just part of the whole mess the game actually is. Here are the worst points about the game I can tell you about :
1) Gathering, non existent system no progression whatsoever it has no use and do not feel rewarding. There is not even the bare minimum like upgrading tools for more loot, leveling up let's say mining for faster mining/new ores it's just not here.
2) The marketplace, when I play an MMo I don't expect to need to do every part of the gameplay and that is why we have market place. You don't want to do gathering you buy ressources in the market, you don't like grinding for hours to get a drop for a mob you go to the marketplace ! Here you want something you look at the marketplace and you see nothing. You see nothing because nothing can actually be sold (actually not really but...) In most game you have 70-95% of the items that are tradeable, here you have maybe 5-15% of your inventory that can by traded. Plus the currency for the market is only obtainable via the shop for 'event coins' which is certainly just gonna be the paid currency. So you have this weird third currency with very limited supply of it and you get a 35% tax on the marketplace, 35 fucking percents !!! What the fu** I get it you don't want inflation but you just kill the economy before it even started ?!? Anyway just trash market as well.
3) The lack/complete absence of leveling up content starting level 19. I think this might just be a beta thing but I'm not sure since they had 10 years to at least create the quests for levels 1-30 for this beta but they stop at level 19. At that point you need to reach level 24 for the next one and good luck with that.
4) In the 40hours I played I killed birds for 23 of them. It got me from level 20 to level 23. With this combat system I would understand if someone died of boredom mid leveling. And yes there is a kind of 'daily' system for players to get daily hunting quests but when you need 970k exp to level up from 22 to 23 and one quest gives you 12k exp you are not gonna wait 7days for one level up (you can do 13-14 contract per day).
5) PVP content is all content. Starting from level 19 aswell all content is now open PVP meaning you get murdered everytime you try to enjoy your time. want to go see the new cool 'dungeon' to exp (actually ths is not even good exp, even with +600% exp boost) well too bad for you some random guys will just murder you. Want to go to the new field boss, can't get out alive either. And I can understand why not PVP in MMOs it could be a good thing but a least don't make it ALL PVP I don't like it and I don't want you to shove it down my throat every time I see new content. I just wanted to have a chill experince in the world but no no no can't have that you go back to killing birds to level up unless you're part of the big guilds (and I even was part of a top 10 guild but it's not enough).
As a conclusion, play the first 19 levels of the game why not. DO NOT PLAY MELE AT ALL COST I played dagger it was a nightmare. Play bow or mage (I could see sword and shield but don't go for it you'll regret it later). And to be honest don't play at all, just do something else I can garantee you it's not worth your time.
Anyway pretty sad for a game I had hopes for. I wont even participate in the west beta tbh I don't think the devs can get this game in a good state in less that 12-18 months.
