Flight with ear infection last week

My toddler (22 months) was sick early last week with a cold which turned into a double ear infection. We went to the pediatrician on Friday and he has been on an antibiotic (for 4 days). He hasn’t had a fever since Friday. His nose is super runny and he is coughing a bit at night. We are supposed to fly tomorrow to visit family. I was reading some previous posts on Reddit and was concerned about him being in a lot of pain in his ears. Do you think his ear infection should be cleared up by now? I told our pediatrician and he said he would be good to go for our trip but now I’m freaking myself out that he will be miserable and scream the entire flight. Does anyone have any experience or advice?
