Srimanthudu is overhated
Yes, this movie has flaws (I particularly am not a HUGE fan of the ending of the movie). And yes this was the origin of BOB. And yes, he spoiled the legacy of this movie insanely by making his MCU-verse
But still, as a movie it’s a good movie that came at the right time.
- Babu could have only done this movie no one else could have acted as well as him in this movie. I understand people roast him for showing minimal expressions, but the character, Harsha, is an introvert who doesn’t easily open up to people
- Fresh pairing with shruthi hassan. I think after trisha and sonali bendre, this is the best pairing of babu. They both really made it super fresh
- The mass elevations were not OVER THE TOP. In a time when legend and other over the top mass movies released, it was nice to see a very new portrayal of heroism. I remember when he was warning the minister once he said “family jollu ki ravadam enti moham pagalakotevadu lekha” that entire scene took another turn
- DSP put his entire life into the album of this movie after s/o satyamurthy and the songs were shot stylishly too. I don’t think it would be an overstatement to say this is the last movie that all of babu’s songs were shot well (even guntur kaaram dum masala video song im not a fan of)
- Ignore the whole message universe thing. It was super fresh at the time
The irony of this movie is that what we saw as very new and fresh back then is what we find routine almost 10 years later. He kept remaking the same movie all over again with BAN, Maharshi, SVP, SLN.
I hope SSR can shape this man into something
