Looking for some advice

I was scrolling through tictok and came across a musician reviewing an electric saxophone.

It led me to see if there is an electric trumpet and to wonder if it would be easier to play for my father in law.

He played the trumpet for years, but unfortunately a few years back he got bells palsy and a few of his facial muscles never came back to 100%.

Now I know absolutely nothing about playing the trumpet, so please excuse my ignorance.

He said that he can't play the trumpet as he can't form the tight seal that's required to play it. He's pretty devastated and has chosen another instrument to play but we can always see the frustration in him that he can't play the trumpet.

Does anyone know do you still require this tight seal with an electric trumpet? Might it be something that doesn't require the exact same style of seal and maybe it it would work for him ?

I appreciate any advice on this.
