secret level review
Just watched Episode 4 of Secret Level, and wow, what a missed opportunity. The episode had all the potential to capture the chaotic, fast-paced energy of the game but instead gave us a generic revenge plot with boring action scenes. It felt more like watching someone else play a dull cutscene than experiencing the high-octane vibes UT is known for.
The visuals were dark and gritty, but not in a cool way—it just lacked any excitement or style. They could’ve leaned into the wild weapons, crazy respawn mechanics, or the intense competition of the game’s world, but instead, it was just… meh.
Honestly, if they’d taken more risks with the story or gone for a more stylized animation approach, this could’ve been one of the standout episodes. Instead, it just felt like a forgettable tech demo. Secret Level needs to stop trying to be “serious” and embrace the chaos! What do you guys think? Did this episode work for anyone?
Biggest gripe is the lack of weapons' used. Not one Shock COMBO???
