Spur of the moment wedding
Hey guys!
We finally decided that we just don't want to wait any longer to be married. We do fully plan to have a real wedding eventually but there are too many variables and upcoming upheavals in our lives for affording a wedding to be realistic in the foreseeable future and we're done waiting. We've decided to gather my small family (his lives out of state) and just go to the courthouse next week. We've been talking about marriage for more than a year so this isn't a "I have a crazy idea!" kind of thing.
My question for anyone who's taken this path, how "weddingy" did your wedding turn out to be? Originally we were just going to hop in the van and to sign some shit and walk out married but the more I think about it (and of course, the more I talk to my grandma...) the more I'm wondering just how much should actually go into this. Should we dress up? Write our own vows? Play Canon in D while we get our license-signing on? I know that really it's up to us, just curious to hear from people who've gone this route.
Thanks!
