sachiko the paper child a japanese story about a woman who makes a little paper girl as her daughter but I cannot find anywhere and one I could have sworn was by shannon hale but apparently not. a girl whos older sister is marrying a prince and along the way discovers she has wolf tendencies?

so the first one I read was around the early 2000s but I cant find I could have sworn that was the name of the book but search results bring up nothing and neither does describing the plot. the woman was lonely and sad and she created the little paper girl named sachiko and one day the girl sets out to find her mother that hadnt come home and I never finished it and it's been bothering me for years lol. it was thin and large like most children's books and white

the second one was around the 2010s found in a library beside shannon hale books. a girl is going to visit her older sister who is marrying a faraway prince. her village/town had beef with wolves but she felt a strange connection to them and along the way finds an injured wolf that travels with her. when she reaches her sister she has another encounter with wolves and her to be brother in law was accusing her of being evil or something he raises his hand and thinking he's about to hit her sister she scratches him badly across the face only to find out he was gonna pull a cord to open something. he says something along the lines of "I would never hurt/hit her" and during a party she notices that he was wearing heavy white makeup common for that region (so france I guess but im pretty sure it was a fairytale type book) and the makeup couldn't conceal the scratches she made and people were trying not to stare. again didn't finish and don't know who the author is. help?

edit: I just realized I was supposed to put one book a post my bad my bad
