Does anyone else feel like Katie was kind of underutilized in the anime?

For me, Katie should have been a bit of a deutagonist in the anime and had a Yokai Watch (which she only had in one episode lol) with Nate, but she was kind of reduced to being the love interest Nate's and Yokai victim of the week
