I learned why boss wouldn't make a yearly schedule for me!
It's because the way he visualizes his work is through prioritizing, not through scheduling. I schedule so that it makes me prioritize, while he prioritizes before he schedules. So I've figured that I need to ask him to let me when know when he plans to prioritize to get something done, not when he plans to actually do the thing. I set something on the schedule in advance, and then I start to prioritize the work once we get close to the date (when the sense of urgency kicks in). He mentally decides when it's time to prioritize something in advance, and, after he starts prioritizing, then he sets the date. It's just annoying that he didn't understand how to communicate this with me and I had to jump through hoops and literally do a case study on him to figure this out lol. But yeah, even just knowing when he plans on prioritizing work, helps me create a sense of urgency to prepare for when he then, last minute, sets a firm date. YAY!
