I found out my ex best friend's family is racist and hates my ethnic group

Last year, I went to visit my best friend. And they were in an extremely tough financial situation, so I helped them out by getting groceries. The trip didn't go as planned but what did I do to deserve being called slurs? My best friend's dad LITERALLY HATES ASIANS AND I DIDN'T KNOW! HE TOLD HIS LITTLE DAUGHTERS THAT I WAS GONNA EAT THEIR DOG AND CONVINCED THEM TO CALL ME CHNK, COMMIE AND CAT EATER! OH MY GOD I AM HEARTBROKEN!! We aren't friends anymore but seriously I didn't do anything to deserve being called slurs. They called me chnk even after I bought them food and helped them clean their very messy home..

They didn't like me just because I am Asian and just because I was grouchy at times for the trip going wrong.
