About the starters...

With the trio of totodile, chikorita and tepig announced as the starters for ZA, it brings about the question of why these 3 random starters, and what happened to kalos trio?

As far as I can tell, ZA doesn't look to be more than say, 30 years from the events in x and y, so there's been no where near enough time for Toto, chiko and tepig to adapt and evolve into different forms. You could argue that because they're pokemon this whole process would go much faster, but still, <30 years still seems like way too little time.

As for the kalos starters, I'm pretty certain they're going to make an appearance in this game. It doesn't make sense for the kalos starters to just...disappear in the span of a few years nor be replaced by 3 starters from other regions.

This leads me to believe that we'll not only get one of either tepig, chikorita or totodile, but we'll also get one of the 3 kalos starters. If I recall correctly, in the x and y games you get a second starter from gen 1 from professor sycamore at some point...so it's entirely possible that after picking a starter, you'll be able to get another starter, which will be one of the gen 6 starters.

As for which of the two will get a mega or maybe a regional variant...I have no clue. It makes more sense for the gen 6 starters to get megas, and for the new starters to get regional variants but...then again it doesn't seem plausible for them to get regional variants in the first place. The only thing I could think of is if AZ and his floette are involved somehow, which is entirely possible.

Any thoughts?
