Weekly Vent for Current Teachers

I’m so tired. This is my first year teaching after taking a pause after graduation. I thought that this was what I wanted but I am so drained and mentally in the worst place of my life. On top of that, I feel that the stress is starting to take a physical toll on me as well. I hear so much about how everyone’s constantly tired and stressed and I’m freaking out about the fact that when I look around me at older teachers, I see my future and I don’t like it. I hardly have time for myself and when I do have time for myself it ends with regret that I should’ve worked harder at my work tasks. I love the kids and I love teaching itself but everything around it is so frustrating. I feel like I have so much work for such little hours and yeah the pay is better than I thought it would but it doesn’t feel worth it? I don’t know. I feel stuck in it because I feel like I have nowhere to go other than a path in education. If anyone has any wisdom for getting through this or for transitioning out of teaching or any nuggets of some kind of light at the end of the world’s longest and darkest tunnel, please let me know.
